It had to be different! It had to be unique and of course lavish and extraordinary. Tina Ambani wondered why not set up a Mini Circus for the Birthday celebrations?They approached the best circus in India.A brilliant idea only a corporate giant could afford. Well it was the first of its kind .The celebration was held in early January 1993 at Ambani Bungalow , Narimanpoint, Mumbai.Initially a special show was arranged for the Ambanis at the Jumbo Circus. Tina Ambani ,Anil Ambani, Mukesh Ambani and their relatives had come to see the show which was an exclusive performance that was held after 10.00 p.m in the night The Ambani family shortlisted some of the items which they felt could be a part of the circus show to be held at their bungalow. A Mini Circus Tent was set up in the garden area of the bungalow. This gave a feel of the circus. A fifteen-member troupe led by C.Lakshmanan, the programme director, Band Master Mehboob, Kalam Khan, Usmankhan, Anthony, Moinudeen, Damodaran, Arathi, Jamuna, Shiv Ram Raju with lions, tigers, camels, horses, elephants, macaws and cockatoos. The circus show began at 8.00 p.m and went on for nearly an hour. Moinudeen’s juggling,spine chilling brick balance on the rod, single wheel and high wheel by Anthony, ball juggling by Ganesh and family,Hula- hoop by the glamorous Puthli, clownish antics,boxing farce, magic farce of Kalam and Usmankhan. The highlight was the Happy Birthday song sung by the Clowns Kalam and Usman to give a typical circus touch. Jackie shroff, Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra, the entire gliterrati of Mumbai was their to celebrate the occasion.
